Pontiac National Small Business Week 2023
As a celebration of Pontiac’s small business ecosystem, PCF & CFPE are hosting a variety of events for the 2023 National Small Business Week, from April 30 – May 6, 2023, including supporting ecosystem providers like CEED Lending with their Pitch ‘N Pontiac event, workshops related to social media marketing, storytelling and AI, and accounting and bookkeeping, a pop-up vendor market and food truck rally, and Hispanic business networking event with Centro Multicultural La Familia.
Lender Connection Event
As part of this week, PCF & CFPE will host the first event of its kind in Pontiac called the Lender Connection on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 5:30 – 8 pm at The Crofoot in Downtown Pontiac (1 S Saginaw St, Pontiac, MI 48342). This event is in partnership with the Small Business Administration’s District Office.
One of the critical areas to success for small business owners is access to various forms of capital. Based on a study performed by the Eckblad Group in 2022, in collaboration with the Pontiac Funders Collaborative, it is identified that Pontiac business owners have historically less access to all forms of small business financing than peer cities.
To address these challenges, PCF & CFPE is hosting the Lender Connection to increase relationship-building and networking among Pontiac’s small business owners and the lending community. While not everyone may be ready, these contacts will be key for the future of their business when that entrepreneur is ready.
