Circular Economy Grants of $50,000 – $250,000 are available to projects that reuse, repair, recycle, compost, or build recycled-material end markets in Michigan. Public, private, and non-profit entities are eligible for this Michigan EGLE and NextCycle Michigan grant program.

  • Supported projects include those:
  • Developing new technologies that improve material recovery.
  • Creating new methods or products that utilize significant amounts of recycled content.
  • Adapting recycled material supply chains to feed end markets.
  • Increasing end-market use of organic materials.
  • Scaling reuse- or repair-based business models.

This program is being funded by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) in partnership with the NextCycle Michigan program. The application period is July 8 – Aug 19, 2024. Go online to get more information and download the application packet: CIRCULAR ECONOMY GRANTS.

This program allows you to ask questions even during the application period! There are a few ways to get in touch with the program administrators, but here are two suggested routes:

  • Attend the upcoming application party. An online Zoom meeting that has a casual atmosphere to encourage questions. The program administrators will provide a quick overview of the grant program and then open it up for questions. They will encourage everyone to turn on their camera and unmute during the Q&A to encourage participation.
  • Schedule a one-on-one virtual meeting or “office hours” with Keira Higgins, one of the program administrators. You can ask her questions specific to your project, including eligibility for the grant program. Here is the link to schedule a 30-minute virtual meeting with Keira: OFFICE HOURS.

Please reach out to PMBC@Michigan.Org with any questions.
